    Hello !
How is it possible to translate the confirmation message of the Getwid plugin contact form ? The options allow to change every form area, the filling alerts are in French, but the green message “Thank you for your message. It has been sent.” remains in English when it should be in French… Is there something to do to get in in French ? I tried with JS text replace method but it doesn’t work (Head & Footer plugin), and I don’t want to use css to make it disappear, because it is important to be sure the message has been sent.
    Hope you can help.

    Hello @webdee75,

Let me illustrate the translation process with an example using the Loco Translate plugin, but you can use any other plugin that can generate translations.

    • Install and activate the Loco Translate plugin.
    • Navigate to Dashboard > Loco Translate > Home.
    • Click on the Getwid plugin.
    • Click “New language”.
    • Choose your language. For example, “English (United States)”.
    • For the location choose “languages/loco/plugins/getwid-en_US.po”.
    • Click “Start Translating”.
    • Insert the “Thank you for your message. It has been sent.” text in the “Filter translations” field.
    • Click on the source text.
    • Add your text to the translation field.
    • Save.

You can also help you and others by contributing French translation to the Getwid plugin by following this link:
    https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/getwid/

You can even create po/mo files without any plugin on your computer and upload them to the languages folder.
WordPress will check for translations in the following locations:

    1. wp-content/languages/plugins/getwid-en_US.mo
    2. wp-content/plugins/getwid/languages/getwid-en_US.mo

And if there are your custom files, then:
    1. Your files in the first location will be overwritten once there is the official (approved) plugin translation update.
    2. Your files in the second location will be overwritten after the next plugin update with the translation from the plugin author (us in this case).

Hi Alex M, thank you for your answer.
If I must add another plugin, I think I’d better choose a well translated contact form plugin to solve the problem.
But I’d like to avoid adding too many plugins, and getwid is a nice one, so maybe I will try to contribute to the plugin translation if I can…
The po/mo file is another solution, but don’t you think an update would probably override it ? (No child theme for this site, I chose the light solution with additional css and a plugin for JS).
The contributing solution might take a long time, I understood the plugin has to be almost completely translated before an update is edited (and the French translation’s rate is 5% ??

    Hi @webdee75,
You may edit language files from PC using Poedit software and then upload the file to system path which is not overridden after plugin update – /wp-content/languages/plugins/
    Thanks for your feedback.

Thank you all for your answers. I thought the whole plugins file content was overridden after update, I’m happy to learn it isn’t.
But this translation detail plus the fact I can’t chose the receiver’s mail address (the Admin is the receiver and my client will be Editor…) made me choose Contact Form 7 for the moment. I regret it because it represents one more plugin, and, for a client and new WP user, CF7 shortcode system is not as convenient as Getwid form blocks…
But I keep Getwid Plugin for many other uses ! And I hope I can soon come back to Getwid form blocks when it is fixed for these 2 issues.
