Thank you message appears after page reload and scroll down again

I’m using this plugin along with the mailchimp for WP (lite version).
After signing up, there is no thank you message from dreamgrow scroll box, but there is one from my mailchimp form.

However, the thank you message only comes after a page reload, and the user has to scroll down to trigger it again, as if opting in never occurred, only this time, the box contains the thank you message.

Any thoughts on what’s going on and how to fix this? Thanks for any help!!

I currently have the scroll box set to:

– no auto close after “thank you” message
– redirect url field in the mailchimp settings is empty
