    I am experiencing an issue with the SG Security Plugin. I am not sure what is triggering it as it seems to be happening all over the place to users on my e-commerce site. My site sells online ebooks, which users access by purchasing. We then grant them access to a woo commerce membership and the pages of the ebook are restricted via the woo commerce membership plugin.

    However, lately users have been experiencing the “The access to that page has been restricted by the administrator of this website”, despite having the correct permissions to access the page. I’m not sure what to do about this error, I have checked through pretty much everything I know about the SG security plugin and even deactivated it. The error still appears. As I am unable to recreate the error myself, I am even more stumped.

    The issue is not only happening when users access ebooks. It is also happening when people access our “store”, which has absolutely no restrictions. Any help or thoughts are GREATLY appreciated as I am lost!

    Hello @jwall567,

    By default your WordPress login page can be accessed by anyone. You can use this functionality to allow access to the wp-admin only from your IP. If your users use a dynamic IP, then you can whitelist the range of possible IPs that their ISP may assign to them to avoid any problems accessing the mentioned login page.

    You can discuss the case with the affected users and add their IP addresses in the list:

    WordPress Dashboard > SG Security > Login security > Login Access > Configure.

    @vtrandev I think I didn’t describe my issue clearly. I am not having problems w/ access to my login page or Wp-admin login page. Instead, users are getting this access denied page when trying to access other pages on my website.

    Just to be clear, this is definitely related to the SG security plugin, right? I thought that it must have been since it looks like the access denied page that SG security uses, but it might not be.

    The error message, “The access to that page has been restricted by the administrator of this website,” can only occur if there are limitations set on the website login, and the login attempts involve incorrect credentials.

    These settings can be adjusted from the following path: WordPress Dashboard > SG Security > Login security > Login Access > Configure.

    In your situation, there are no login modifications, which should rule out the possibility of the problem being caused by SG Security.

    We’re ready to delve deeper into this issue, but we need to be able to reproduce it or at least have more details about the page where the user encountered the error and the precise sequence of actions they performed.

    Once you’ve documented the exact steps, please submit a Helpdesk request via your SiteGround Client Area, and we’ll proceed with further investigation.

    Hi there, same problem here. I’ve been disconnected from internet during the plugin setup and now i cannot access the admin anymore.

    Hello @iamlegh,

    If you are a SiteGround client, please open a HelpDesk request and we can assist you with removing the plugin on your behalf so you can initiate a new setup.

    In case you are not a SiteGround client please ensure that you delete the plugin using WP-Cli or directly from your phpMyAdmin service and initiate a new installation.
