We are new to this plugin. We were unhappy with our other ad rotating plugin so we are trying this one. We created an ad group and placed it in the header via the advanced ads widget. We selected the header widget area and used the drop down menu to identify the group to be placed. The first ad in the group displays but does not change on refresh. I have been thru the manual pages but cannot figure out what I am missing. The ads have the same weight. I am obviously missing something but what? Without rotation it’s useless to me.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi greenreflection,

    thanks for reaching out.

The most common reason for ads not rotating is caching. Are you using a caching plugin?

If you do, please take a look at our Cache Busting feature.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

So you cannot rotate ads without using the pro version if you have caching (and who doesn’t)? Is that correct? We were hoping to find out if and how this worked before ponying up.

So yes. We use W3 Total Cache.

I just wish I knew whether I have it set up correctly.

    Hi greenreflection,

Cache Busting is not needed in general on cached sites. As soon as you cache a version of your site with an ad on it, that ad will be cached with the rest, unless some sort of fix is used and I am extremely proud of the solution we found after putting a lot of work and experience into it.

Since caching caches every page individually, users browsing your site will have the feeling of seeing different ads, so you might not need Cache Busting here as well. When your cache is flushed by the plugin, which happens automatically, the ads on the pages will also change.

If you refer to rotating ads then the answer is probably Yes, since that is the default setup of groups.

If you are interested in Cache Busting than please feel free to reach out with any pre-sale question through customer support.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

thank you so much Thomas. That was the sort of reassurance that I needed. I am seeing rotation now and my guess is we just needed to wait for awhile for everything to work. Regardless, I appreciate your time. And should this work well for us then we will upgrade.
