The “amp-img” tag cannot be a descendant of the “amp-story-player” tag

  • After recent updates to the plugin, I received the following error notification via Google Search Console:

    The “amp-img” tag cannot be a descendant of the “amp-story-player” tag.

    A warning is issued that due to the errors, pages or site features may not be available in the search results.

    Can you please tell me if this problem could be on my end or will it be fixed with the new AMP for WP update?`

    Can you please check it once by a rollback to the previous version and let us know back the response? So that we will assist you accordingly to resolve your issue.

    Unfortunately, even after rolling back the plugin to a previous version, the error still persists. At least the quick check tool in the Google Seacrh Console gives the same error.

    The issue might occur due to the conflict with the other plugins. Can you please check it once by deactivating the plugins on your site whether the issue is persistent then let us know back?

    I looked into the problem pages, the error seems to occur when embedding Web Stories from Google. In other cases a similar problem does not show up.
