I followed the guide. However, it seems that it had something to do with a database update that had to be performed AFTER saving the settings for the new feature. Usually, I perform the Woocommerce database updates remotely with wp-cli. That did NOT work in this case. The database version stayed at 6.4.1. I had to go through sites manually to update the database. Now, the message seems to be gone. That was pretty time-consuming!
