• since updated to 3.6, this message came up when updating a page.

when finishing editing a page, click on ‘Update’, then this message – The backup of this post in your browser is different from the version below. Restore the backup. – appears.

don’t have a lot plugins installed on this wp site. Tried disable CKEditor and WP-Super-Cache, the message still appears after clicking on ‘Update’ button.

also disabled revision, the message still appear on the Edit Page screen.

seems like an issue with autosave, because autosave now saves in local browser(?)

anyone has idea how to make this message go away?

    many thanks,

    yan

  • I have the same issue after updating to 3.6.

I have the exact same trouble after updating to 3.6. The workaround that I found was to deactivate Symple Shortcodes ver 1.3. Then I can edit the pages and then reactivate the plugin.

Are you all also using Symple Shortcodes ver 1.3?

I have the same issue after updating to 3.6. If I deactivate Symple Shortcodes ver 1.3, I can make my edits. I have to reactivate it since so much of my site uses these short codes.

Are you all also using Symple Shortcodes ver 1.3?

hi, don’t have Shortcodes installed, but have CKEidtor and supercache.

It could be an issue with CKEditor. I have the same problem.

I agree it could be an issue with CKEditor.

I’m seeming to get a similar issue with CKEditor as well.

Yes, I’m getting this error also and am using CKEditor. Any known fix for this?

CKeditor was causing the problem for me.
It was very confusing because I was editing in one tab and refreshing and viewing the page in another. I could not see the right version I updated because the “browser” was saving its own version of the page even though I disabled caching plugin at the wordpress level, and caching at the browser level.
This attempted extra cache being performed by ckeditor that i could not control was making it hard to update changes in one tab and view them in another by refreshing the page.
I disabled ckeditor and this behavior went away. I like ckeditor but this feature needs to have easy and straight-forward visibility what’s happening and user control, or it could be confusing and hinder development.
