The buttons on the editor aren’t working

  • Hello,

    I just discovered that none of the formatting buttons such as bold, italics, underline, background color etc. are working. When my users click on then then it breaks up the sentence in the following format when it prints:
    <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”> word.</span> (this is the error that came with using the underline feature.)

    So the button underlines it during the editing but the output is as above. Depending on how many words are being underlined they are sandwiched within this format. In the above example i have used a single word as “word”

    The same goes for every other editing feature i mentioned above, please advise. Thank you.

    I noticed that this problem is not happening with Admin and Editor roles but for everyone else. Must users have either a subscriber or contributor role. This problem also happens for author role.

    No problems ??

    Seems all HTML tags are being removed when saving, probably as a security precaution.

    Probably, but the fix should be in the plugin that enables TinyMCE in bbPress. As far as I know only few HTML tags are supported on the front-end, so the TinyMCE configuration should match that.
