I have been playing with plugin trying to set it up, if this thing works, omg, how cool would it be! ??
(I have many many images that I have uploaded to my website last year but I would like to set bigger size and sharpness for all of them)

The problem is that I get this error when trying to synchronize (Clicking Lightroom: Library -> Plug-in extras -> Total Synchronization)

The connection to your website works but LR cannot communicate with the WP/LR Sync plugin on your WP. This is a common issue, please check the FAQ at apps.meow.fr/wplr-sync/faq

Before that I have successfully logged in with Publishing services and publishing image works fine. BTW I am working on localhost (I am disliking idea to test with real website).

On that FAQ page there isn’t anything written about the problem. What could I try?

Is it working with publishing photos already? Total Sync is a very advanced module so before that, it would be better to check that the main feature works ?? Does it?

Wow such a fast response! ??
By publishing photos you mean Publish Services? This works (If I move some images to this folder Photos and right click publish, image is correctly uploaded to WordPress) https://prntscr.com/b9tnu4

Do you mind trying again using this file (as the LR plugin):
    https://apps.meow.fr/wp-content/uploads/wplr-2.6.0.lrplugin.zip

Might be the one you are using now, but I actually changed it recently and I am not sure it was updated (and the version number never changed because… it’s a beta… okay, that’s a bad excuse haha). Anyway we will find the issue one way or another ??

I tried, but unfortunately I can’t make it work. Versions are:

    Lightroom plugin 2.6.0.2600
    Wordpress plugin - WP/LR Sync 2.4.3.

But I tried it with live website, it works for publishing single image. For everything else, hm I need to test more, I am struggling with this whole evening.

We need to debug more, so PHP error logs and the WPLR Sync logs in the Documents folder. You can contact me directly too ??

This is what I have in WPLRSync.log, I only changed my website url (there are no errors on server as far as I can tell – only theme related stuff)

I do have Jetpack installed and I also saw AGgExportRendition… error when publishing a few images with set titles (with empty titles it worked fine), but when going to Jetpack->settings->Carousel settings , I don’t see any option for authorizing WP/LR?

Hm with all the fiddling I tried, I don’t remember what I have actually done. But it seems that the connection is good and I can Start/Stop the process.

I have about 20000 images in one catalog, 5000 in second catalog and on server there are 9000 images. If I get this right… every image I have in current catalog will be compared to every 9000 image on server? ??

I have tried putting 7 images in selection that I believe I have on server (organizing 9000 images like this would be hard hm…), I have created hashes and started the process. Do I have to complete it before I get any matches? Because it is empty all the time. Btw I am aware that this process takes forever but I think it would be a good idea to be possible to pause/continue the process ??

Yes ?? Crazy, right? Haha ??

The first check is the longest one because all your photos on your WordPress needs to be hashed, so that takes quite some time… But then once this is done, it goes much faster. Did you hash the 9000 photos already?

There is no Pause/Continue, that’s true, but you can actually just stop the process and restart it later, it will not take much time since the hashed are kept (it’s not re-hashed a second time).

    Thread Starter filoveg

    (@filoveg)

Are you sure hashing won’t restart?
Because I hashed about 800 https://s33.postimg.org/4d2ilium7/image.jpg then I pressed stop and again clicked Create hashes https://s33.postimg.org/inc2x0ayn/image.jpg
It started from 0 to the same number.

It might be better if I manually select all images I have uploaded, or at least narrow the selection somehow…
I have put 1 images in selection, created hash and clicked start. For that 1 image it would need more than 7 hours to find a selection, if I got calculation right. That is terribly slow xD
and so for 8500 images (2479 days = 82 months = more than 6 years?)

Publishing new images works ok, I will test it some more and probably just buy the plugin neverthless since it really seems useful. As for already uploaded images… I don’t know.

    If I remember well:

Create Hashes only create the hashes for the selected images only (or all, if no selection). Once it’s done, it should be done done ?? If you click on this button twice, it should be much much much faster the second time. Is it not? I have just tried, it’s definitely 10x faster the second time.

Find Matches will analyze the selected images (or all) in your Lightroom against the Media Library. This will be slow, VERY SLOW, EXTREMELY SLOW for the first one ?? On the WP side, the plugin will need to generate all the hashes for all your unlinked photos. But once the first one it’s done, it should take less than 10 seconds for each, so basically less than 24 hours.

Another trick is to move your install on your localhost and do all the linking on your localhost, then you can re-use your remote website when it’s all linked. It is much much faster because your local is probably faster and there will no need to send those images over.

All my apologies, I think there is a bug here… The fact the LR HASHING is re-appearing is NOT normal, that should only appear once. I noticed that using the XML/RPC protocol it works, but not with the new REST protocol. I am checking into this issue, it should be easy to fix…

    Plugin Author Jordy Meow

    (@tigroumeow)

Found the issue, I pushed a new version on the WP repository. Please update and try again, it should be… faster (but it will slow the first time of course). By the way, before it was simply not working at all, we could actually see it failing in the logs ??

Yes, hashing correctly continues now where it stopped. ?? I will try with a backup when I get some free time over weekend

Good news ?? Let me know how the matches are working at the end ?? I will mark this as resolved for now.
