I have problems to get Google to read EAN/GTIN values. My feed is made using the Content API.

I have both products without variation ( https://glandine.com/product/karl-lagerfeld-230w3060/ ) and products with variations (https://glandine.com/product/adidas-stansmith/ )  and each variant has its own EAN.

    • in EAN > Compatibility > I enabled Google Listings & Ads
    • in Google Listings & Ads > Attributes > I Created attribute rule, selected the “GTIN” attribute > and then selected _alg_ean

Despite these, Google cannot find GTINs.

I also wonder why in EAN > Tools > Copy from product SKU, after saving the checkbox is empty although I have just enabled it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

I am really sorry to know you are experiencing problems.

Regarding the first issue, I have escalated this with our development team. They will get back to you as soon as they can.

Regarding the second issue, this is how the plugin was designed. The checkbox remains unchecked for some options in the plugin. But after clicking on the “Save changes” button, did you get a notice like, “EAN copied for 50 products (89 total products)”??If it appeared, then the EANs were copied from the product SKUs.

    Kind regards,
    Moshtafizur

Thank you for your reply regarding my second question. After Saving the changes I don’t get any notice, but in spite of that the SKUs seem to be copied as EANs. Am I interpreting correctly that when new products are added, the SKUs need to be copied again, in other words the plugin doesn’t copy them automatically?

    Kind regard

    Hi there,

After Saving the changes I don’t get any notice, but in spite of that the SKUs seem to be copied as EANs.

Then it might be a cache issue.

Am I interpreting correctly that when new products are added, the SKUs need to be copied again,?

Yes, you are right. If new products are added, the SKUs need to be copied again; the plugin doesn’t copy them automatically. That’s the reason why the option is not always enabled. You have to run it when you add new products.

    Hi, @annette23,

Actually, you can enable automatic copying from SKU in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools > Product Actions > Automatic actions”. Set the “New product” and “Update product” options to “Copy from product SKU” there.

As for the problem with the “Google Listings & Ads” – could you please go to your site’s Google Listings & Ads connection testing page and try “Sync All Products with Google Merchant Center”?
