I deleted page yesterday, however it is still available (I didn’t see error 404). The page was deleted permanently. Why that page is still visible?

Are you using any sort of caching plugin, or do you see a “Clear/Purge Cache” button in your Dashboard or admin bar? If so, would you please try clearing the cache?

Note: You do not need to install a caching plugin at this point just to clear a cache you don’t have. If you don’t have a caching plugin or a way to clear a server-level cache, just say so. ??

I cleared the cache many times and the page is still visible. Maybe I should back up to the day before the deletion and try deleting the page again?

Perhaps you had more than one similar page?

When you’re logged in, do you have an edit icon or link on the page? If so, what happens when you click that?

I had another page which is similar to deleted page. Could this be related?

I am not able to edit that deleted page. I don’t have any icon, this page only exists.

Did you perhaps make your edits in the theme editor, to the theme, rather than to any page in particular?

No, only page. I didn’t change anything in the theme. However, a month ago IT specialist changed access in file. htaccess (after his changes I’ve had problems in uploading images to the “Media”; after his changes every pluggin update is possible if I fill the FTP password). Since that time I haven’t deleted pages or created new ones. The only exception was two days ago when I deleted that page and saw that something didn’t work properly.

Hey @monika93 I notice when taking a look at your Domain DNS/Settings that it looks like it may have changed recently. It is showing the domain pointing to 2 different hosts/locations. If that were the case it might explain why changes you make aren’t reflected publicly.

    https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/consilio.pl

Are you aware of any recent changes having been made to the domain settings?

    (@monika93)

I didn’t know that something changed in domain settings. I will check it. ??

When I view the source of the page, I see (at the bottom) that the page was served from the cache:

    Served from: consilio.pl @ 2023-05-18 17:48:28 by W3 Total Cache

If I check the page by adding ?nocache=1 at the end of the url, I see the page is gone and it’s redirected to a different page.

So really make sure to completely remove the cache from this plugin. If it still doesn’t work, check if you also have other caching solutions, that might need to be cleared. And you can always login via FTP or your hosts filemanager and remove all files and folders from the wp-content/cache/ folder to make sure there are no old caching files left. Don’t worry, they will be created again when needed.

@josklever Thank you. It was a plugin problem.
