• I have this really wierd one. Just started a blog. I’m trying to upload an image using IE7. I don’t get the full “image upload” dialog because the dialog is only half-showing at the bottom of the frame. The dialog has no scroll bar of its own and it’s unable to be scrolled into full view. I have enough showing that when I select a small image (24 kB .jpg) and try to upload it I get “Crunching” then the now infamous “HTTP error”. My admin said try FireFox – I have vers 2.0. Go through the same procedure and the full dialog shows plus the upload goes through!

I notice in searching around there may be some conflict in the “User Agent String” for IE that causes this. But many threads are left haning and there doesn’t seem to be any solution. I will dislike having to run two browsers here.

Is there a resolution for this IE7 problem? Please?

Here’s what I’ve tried since my first post:

Run MS’s User Agent String Util – no help.
Clear out all entries in IE7’s cache – no help.
Clear out caches again and restarted IE7 – no help.
Clear out caches a third time and rebooted – no help.

Wish I knew why this is broken. Can anyone give me a clue?

I keep checking back but there’s not much coming back at me to help resolve this. I know what you’re all thinking – scrap IE and just FF. I’d have to convince too many people in our group to do that just for the sake of a few crumby pictures every now and again. Not very appealing and not worth it, I say.

So, I’d seriously like to get to the bottom of this one. Oh, here’s another thing I tried: IE7 on my other desktop and IE7 on my laptop. Both show the same exact problem!

This is now “fixed” in WP 2.7. I consider it resolved.

    Please mark it resolved.
