    Hi Chris,
First of all, thanks for this plugin, cool idea.
Listen I play this plugin as an option game in different pages of my blog.
Everything works fine except one of that who shows this:

The dinosaur game can only be used once per page.

Checking the page I see only one shortcode as usually have on the other pages.
What do you think about this issue? Have you a fix for that?

Thanks for what you are doing

    Thanks for using the plugin.

That message should only show up when the dinosaur game plugin is used more than once on the page. The first instance shows the game, and any instance after that shows the message you’re seeing.

This includes things like widgets, footers, headers, anything at all. Basically the first time the code that generates the shortcode runs, it spits out the game. And any time after that, it shows the message.

If you send me a link I can see if I can track it down, if that helps.

Hi, Thanks a lot for your reply.
Yes, please take a look at this: https://chic.menu/demo/
Below the Instagram images, there is: “sfida il dinosauro”
It opens an accordion with your game. In other pages of the same blog works like a charm.
    Thanks a lot, man!

I see the problem, just as your described. The issue isn’t immediately obvious to me – I will need to look at this for a bit and get back to you. Feel free to edit your comment and remove the link if you want now that I have the link.

I’ll look into this and get back to you. By the way, are you using any page builder plugins or anything like that?

    Hi Chris,
The strange fact is that in other pages, in the same domain, project, theme, template your game works like a charm. Today I am switching to another hosting provider per different issues. I am curious to see if I will experience the same. I checked the source of that link and I have no found another instance of the game running. That’s the reason because I decided to write to you.

No, I do not use a page builder.

Chris, do you know how to remove the link?
I do not see any edit button!

    Thanks, man!
When will terminated the moving I will check again your game.

The link thing might not matter, I only mention it because sometimes people ask me about that on these forums. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I don’t think it’s a hosting issue, you will almost certainly have the same issue if everything else about your site is the same after moving hosts. It’s a problem with the plugin for sure. I think I have an idea on how I can fix this in an update to the plugin.

I’ll try and have an update that addresses this published some time in the next week or so.

    Oh… cool!
Yeah, I would like to remove the link but I have no idea how!

    Great Chris,
Thanks a lot for what you are doing!

    Chris,
I rebuild that page using the same shortcode for your game and now works fine.
I really don’t know why, but probably was some of my mistakes. Really don’t know.
    Thanks for your time man!

    Chris,
    Too early my enthusiasm!!
Issue persists in this page: https://chic.menu/develop/
worked fine two/three times and then report the same error.
    Thanks!

Hi Chris, have you any update on the issue of this ticket?
    Thanks a lot.

The issue is likely due to the way full page caching is being generated for your site. The solution I was thinking of doing this didn’t work so I’m trying a more generic idea. In version 1.0.6, users can turn off duplicate checking. Right now the latest stable release is 1.0.5, but you can download and install v1.0.6 here:
    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/dinosaur-game.1.0.6.zip

Then open up your wp-config.php file to edit it, and find the line that says “That’s all, stop editing”. Paste the following into the file a line above that:
    define( 'DINOGAME_DUPLICATE_CHECK', false );

Then check and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, please let me know and I will include this change in the next stable release of the plugin.

    Hi Chris,
Thanks a lot for your help.

I have done what you suggested to me.

On this page: https://chic.menu/develop/ there is a little improvement.
It does not appear anymore the “The dinosaur game can only be used once per page.”
But if you check the link, you will find that game doesn’t start.
The dinosaur is there but without running ??
I have purged the cache on server and I tried to check the game with a private windows too.

Do you have some more ideas?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Seems to load for me. Is the problem still occurring? If so, what kind of browser are you using?

    Hi Chris,
Thanks a lot for your effort.

I am on Mac Os Catalina 10.15.3 and High Sierra 10.13.6
    I tried on Safari 13.0.5, Chrome 85.0, Firefox 80.0
In all of the above, the dinosaur appears but doesn’t run in the game.
If I click, nothing happens, the dinosaur seems frozen.
The same result using a Huawei Mate 20 Pro using Chrome and Firefox.

And this happens in all the restaurant pages after the last update you sent me.

Finally, I tried with an iPhone X and it’s the only one where I see the game running as usual. Hope you will find a fix!

    Thanks a lot Chris!

That’s normal. Tapping is how only how to start a game on a mobile browser. The space bar or up key starts a game normally.

Here’s another demo of the game: chrisdavidmiles.com/dinosaur-game

From the readme of this plugin:

    How to play:
     -?Jump to start a game.
-?The object of the game is to run as far as possible.
Enemies and obstacles will try to block your path.
-?Use the spacebar or up key on your keyboard to jump
over them. The down key lets you crouch. On mobile,
tab on the game area to jump.

    Hopefully this information helps.
