• Hello everyone! Nice to e-meet you again!

I haven’t posted in the forum for a long time. I am reporting a problem I have been experiencing in my Admin panel. After the recent upgrade of WordPress to WordPress version 6.2.2, the dropdown menu in the Admin panel of the post interface has disappeared. I commented on it here:

    https://developer.www.ads-software.com/news/2023/06/whats-new-for-developers-june-2023/#comment-1286

The list of active plugins on my site is as follows:

Akismet Anti-Spam: Spam Protection, CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent, Email Address Encoder, Featured Image in Content, FV Antispam, Grow Social by Mediavine, Hello Dolly, Huge-IT Image Gallery, Inline Related Posts, Insert Blocks Before or After Posts Content, LightStart – Maintenance Mode, Coming Soon and Landing Page Builder, Limit Login Attempts, Notes – A live edit text widget, OneSignal Push Notifications, Patreon WordPress, Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails, StarBox, The SEO Framework, Ultimate Form Builder Lite, WordPress Popular Posts, WordPress Visual Icon Fonts, WP Quiz, WPCode Lite.

They are all updated to the most recent version. I hope you can help me solve this issue! Please let me know if you need more information from my end.

    Best regards,

    Flora LM

  • The author box is still available and still works. Nothing has been removed. Below is a screenshot from a fresh WordPress 6.2.2 installation, Twenty Twenty-Three theme and no plugin active.

If this is missing from your site, then something is broken on your own site that you need to troubleshoot and fix.

To troubleshoot this, disable ALL plugins and switch to the latest default theme. Does the problem persist? If the problem goes away, enable your addons one by one, test after each one… until the problem resurfaces. The last addon that brought back the problem is the culprit.

You may use the Health and Troubleshooting plugin to do the above behind the scenes without affecting the public website.

    Good luck!

Hi George, thank you for your reply. Before I read it, I had just deleted an old plugin I was using for Cookie Compliance because it was no longer GDPR compliant, installing the one I listed above. And going to check in the Admin panel the Author box is now in place. I have no idea if that plugin was the problem, but at least it’s fixed now!

    I think I got lucky ??

    Thanks again for the support!

    Best regards,
