    Hi
Mailpoet was configures and working correctly on my site. I last used it about a year ago and am now unable to send out emails. When I try to send out a test email I get

The email could not be sent: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

I have gone to Mailpoet> Help> system status and under task scheduler I get Connection successful.

Is there anything you can suggest?

    Hi there @allanit,

    Thanks for reaching out!

As a first step, I’d recommend reviewing this article:

    https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/300-why-sending-is-paused-when-using-smtp

If none of the cases outlined there seem to explain your issue, please let us know what version of MailPoet 3 you are using.

    Hi Gui A. a11n

    Thank you for your response.

When I was having the problem the version was either 3.91.1 or 3.92.0. I’m not sure out of those two because until the problem I had auto updates turned on for Mailpoet.

After the problem I did a rollback to version 3.79.0 and could immediately send out emails again using the SMTP settings. The only thing that I changed to get emails sending was the Mailpoet version.

Please let me know if you solve the problem because I would like to turn on automatic updates again for Mailpoet.

    Thanks
    allanit

    Hi @allanit,

Thanks for getting back with more details.

I found some customers in our support channel that were seeing a similar error message and were all using a self-signed certificate on the server. Can you check if this is your case?

If so, can you please try adding the code snippet from this doc: TLS Encryption Does not Work. We’ve seen it to fix issues with SMTP sending in the latest versions of MailPoet.

You can use the Code Snippets plugin to add it to your site: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/code-snippets/
