the ENABLE SEND COMMENT VIA EMAIL OPTION in Settings/Discussion none?? in WP 2.8

Because it’s not part of the native WP core. Perhaps you used a plugin that offered this functionality previously?

thanks for the reply, it just so happens that I saw a video released on april 2009, and it says: “WORDPRESS RELEASE A ENABLE SENDING REPLY COMMENTS VIA EMAIL!”

and i thought it has been in the succeeding native folders of wordpress 2.8 ever since.

if anyone know how to put that OPTION, via PLUIN or via a SAFEHAT HACK,

There are plugins to do this for you, as far as I know this was never a built in WP function since the 2.2 days.

Apparently it’s a feature in WordPress, but I don’t have it in my settings either and I have 2.8.4

That is for WordPress.”com” not .”org”

TinaTheVA: Are you implying that this feature does not exist in the software you can download from www.ads-software.com? If it is not there, do you know of any plugins that will provide the same functionality?
