• I am using Elementor Theme Builder to create the design for the organizer page, events page, etc. I built this site 2 years ago and never had an issue. Now, after updating to The Events Calendar 6.0, things stopped working.

    Example:
When I go to Elementor > Theme Builder > I can see the design that I created for the EVENTS ARCHIVE > When I open it in Elementor it looks good, however in reality the design is NOT being applied to the Events page. Meaning, The Events Calendar is completely ignoring the “display conditions” that I defined in the Elementor Theme Builder, and instead it’s showing the default template from The Events Calendar.

  • Hi @anabellafp thanks for reaching out!

This is a tough one to troubleshoot without a visual reference.

Have you performed a conflict test to rule out any potential theme or plugin conflicts that might be at play?

Also, do you have a staging site where the issue is replicated and which you can share the credentials so I can do some troubleshooting?

Let us know how it goes.

    Cheers,
    Eugene.

@eugenetribe When can we expect a fix?
This issue started right after I updated to The Events Calendar 6.0, so the issue is obviously coming from it.

Hi everyone, apologies for the delay here. Sorry to hear about this, I’m curious, could you interchange the settings under Display → Default stylesheet used for events templates and Events template? See if that makes a difference.

Moreover, for me to help you better, could you also provide the versions of the following?
    1. Elementor
    2. PHP

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz

    hi @abzlevelup

I followed your instructions and interchanged those, but that didn’t fix the issue. I think if you have a test site that uses Elementor, you could try to apply the theme builder layout to the Events page or the individual Organizer page, and you’ll see that it simply doesn’t work.

    Version I’m using:
    Elementor: 3.7.8
    Elementor Pro: 3.7.7
    PHP: 8.0.24

Hi @anabellafp, thanks for providing more information here. I’d definitely try replicating this and reach out to the team and see what’s up.

I’d get back to you whenever I know more. Hang in there.

Hi @anabellafp, apologies for the delay here. One of our devs got back to me on how to configure it with Elementor and shared it with our team handling our knowledge base. Could you follow this article here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/using-tribe_events-with-elementor/.

Let me know if that does the trick for you.

Hi @abzlevelup. Thanks for your reply.
    This does NOT work.

Please, create a test environment, so that you can test it yourself and see that it doesn’t work.

Everything worked perfectly fine before updating to The Events Calendar 6.0. Now it simply does NOT work.

Following the link you sent me, I can confirm that:

    – In Elementor > Settings > all The Events Calendar-specific post types are enabled-

    – In Events > Settings > Display > the Events Template are set to ‘Default Page Template’

    – In Elementor > Theme Builder > I created the template that I want to display for all the organizers. I set the Display Conditions to “all organizers”.

However, when I visit an organizer page, IT SHOWS THE DEFAULT TEMPLATE FROM THE EVENTS CALENDAR. MEANING, IT’S COMPLETELY IGNORING THE TEMPLATE THAT I CREATED.

Please, create a test environment so that you can see this for yourself.

    Thanks
    Ana

Hi everyone, updates here. We’re working on some issues with Elementor, and there have been incompatibilities with v6. We’re still working on it, and while we’re trying to figure out the issue here as a workaround, we recommend downgrading to pre-v6. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/accessing-older-plugin-versions/#Installing_past_plugin_versions

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and new updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

Apologies for the inconvenience. Rest assured that I’d get back to this thread whenever there are updates.

    Hang in there.

    Best,
    Abz

@abzlevelup It’s been almost 4 months and we still don’t have a solution! This should be top-priority.

    Hi everyone.

Thanks for patiently waiting. I tried creating an Events Archive page using the Elementor Theme Builder + Hello Elementor theme, and it’s working as expected.

    See- https://share.getcloudapp.com/rRu5DRKL

If that doesn’t help, could you provide the steps for creating your event archive page? A screenshot or a screen recording would also be great.
