The Events Calendar Release: The Events Calendar 4.5.7
-
Howdy folks!
We’re happy to announce that The Events Calendar 4.5.7 officially released just moments ago. This is a maintenance release, which is a fancy way of saying we squashed a lot of bugs, including some high priority ones we know many of you will appreciate.
So, what’s new in this release? Glad you asked, because I was getting to the change log:
- Fix – Restore support for translated events category slugs when WPML is active
- Fix — Improve handling of shortcodes within event view excerpts (props: @awbauer)
- Fix — Improve compatibility with WPML in relation to event permalinks specifically (props: @dgwatkins)
- Fix — Improved handling of Venue fields that allows for better form validation in Community Events
- Fix — Made the App Shop and help pages work on Windows.
- Fix — Resolved issue where the Meta Chunker attempted to inappropriately chunk meta for post post_types
- Fix — Avoid notices during plugin update and installation checks
- Fix — Ensure an empty
dateTimeSeparator
option value doesn’t breaktribe_get_start_date
output anymore. - Tweak — Improve navigation to elements inside admin pages (don’t let the admin toolbar obscure things)
- Tweak — Better detection and reporting of communication failures with the Event Aggregator server
- Tweak — Textual corrections (with thanks to @garrett-eclipse for highlighting many of these)
- Tweak — New filter added (
"tribe_events_linked_posts_dropdown_enable_creation"
) to facilitate more control over linked posts - Tweak — Improve performance of theme compatibility code
- Tweak — Don’t show Event Aggregator system status in Help tab if there’s no Event Aggregator license in place
Next up, we’re making progress on the next major feature release for The Events Calendar and can’t wait to get that out to you. In the meantime, please update safely as you would with any other WordPress, theme or plugin update and be sure to let us know if you run into any other issues.
We have a Known Issues page for you to reference so you can see what’s already on our radar for a fix.
Happy calendaring, everyone!
