The famous 403 error with the APP

I saw a lot of other topics but (and I might be blind) cannot see anywhere what now the exact requirements are that I have to give my hosting provider.

Engine failure may be a common problem with cars. But there are numerous causes — and solutions.

Same idea here. 403 error simply means the request is forbidden or not allowed. Something on the site or server is blocking the request. What exactly is blocking the request — and how to bypass that and allow the request — depends on the site in question.

403 error … XMLRPC – end point etc. … contact hosting provider etc

That should be enough information already for your host to investigate.

Whether they consider it their responsibility to investigate for or you — that’s a different matter ??

If the site in question is what’s in your user profile, then the page clearly shows it’s the Litespeed web server running your website that’s blocking the request. Litespeed is server software provided by your host, and not something provided by WordPress.

Perhaps there’s something in your hosting control panel you can tweak to allow the app to work. But we don’t have access to your hosting control panel, so that’s something to take up with your hosting provider.

Well, that is a very useful reply and fast also! Much appreciated. Thanks George. So if I just disable Litespeed it should work. No idea what that plug-in does. Is there another Plug-In you know about that does the same I can replace this with? I know my way in the Customizer but the technical stuff in the background is all abracadabra to me….

Sorry, that’s a different “Litespeed”:

— The blocking is being done by the Litespeed Web Server. This is server software provided by your hosting provider and NOT something from/in WordPress. This is what makes your site work at all — and cannot be disabled.

— Litespeed Cache plugin is a WordPress plugin meant to speed up your site. This is NOT what’s blocking the request, and disabling it will not solve the problem.

There’s probably something in your web hosting control panel (again, not WordPress dashboard) that can be tweaked to allow the request. I’ll recommend seeking help from your hosting provider.
