I can’t get ride of the following error message even after deleting the file:

The following file(s) is/are blocking your XML sitemaps from working properly:
    /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/myblog/sitemap.xml
Either delete them (this can be done with the “Fix it” button) or disable Yoast SEO XML sitemaps.

I have even deleted the plug-in that was creating the sitemap.xml file. Nothing I’ve tried makes it go away.

Have you manually deleted the file from your server using FTP? If you are unsure how to delete files on your server, please contact your webhost.

Yes, I have manually deleted the file and as I mentioned, I even deleted the plug-in that was creating the file. The file is no longer on the server but the error continues.
