• I just installed version 2.2 and when I go to Themes, I get this…

    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    WordPress Classic Template is missing.
    WordPress Default Template is missing.

    What can I do to fix this?

    what do you see there? I know what I see.

    Youve seemingly changed the other setting that is telling wp where the files are, as well.

    I did a reinstall to see if that would fix anything. You must have checked during that time. The reinstall didn’t seem to fix anything either.

    Installing wordpress correctly isnt this hard — I really recommend install4free.

    Sadly a huge number of posters seem completely unaware of the virtually unlimited amount of insight that forum helpers get, and the tools and experience they can use if they have the URI (link) to the Blog In Question . We are now making some progress. But its taken over 36 hours for what on the face of it is a simple problem.

    I agree it shouldn’t be this hard, this is my 3rd site running wordpress. Although its my first with 2.2

    Everything works fine if I install 2.1

    I just deleted everything from the server and reuploaded 2.2 and I’m still having the same issues. Am I missing something here? Is there something I should check on the server?

    Well one there is a mess of php unpleasantness on your front page. That cant be doing any good. Two from the mess the url looks wierd. Three the file permissions are wrong. Your web server is not set up correctly. And at no stage have you mentioned your platform. Its an IIS/apache issue. Nothing to do with WordPress.

    I would scrap my config.php file and use the old one. Not saying that is it. But I would do it anyway.

    Root, any ideas of what I should tell my server admin that might help the situdation?

    What do you mean by scrap the config.php file and use the old one?

    the problem in your sidebar is taken care of here:

    Note that within that thread I provide a link to an already edited wp-includes/cache.php that I made available for download. I’ve diffed the files and for whatever reason, this wasnt incoporated into the last upgrade (maybe its an isolated issue, I dont know)

    it would also be nice to have an update on what exactly your problem is — are you still getting the same error in your admin, is it something else, etc..

    Ahhhhhhhhhh. I bet: that their is no meta info at the top of the CSS style sheets in either theme. And I bet that if it was added back it would work. ?? Even tho it is no longer needed. Really.

    By scrap the config – I mean use an old config.php that is known to work.

    I ended up deleting the site from the server then re-adding it. That seemed to have fixed the problem. Thanks everyone for your help.

    Strange. When I go to https://www.gregsfoodblog.com/ I get a Fedora (Linux) start page.

    The theme problem came back and I also had the word “Array” everywhere throughout the dashboard section. I did a search and found this..

    I did this…

    Try edit /wp-includes/plugin.php [Line : 102], inside remove_filter function.
    Change :
    unset($GLOBALS[‘wp_filter’][$tag][$priority][serialize($function_to_remove)]);

    To :

    $wp_filter[$tag][$priority][serialize($function_to_remove)] = array();
    unset( $wp_filter[$tag][$priority][serialize($function_to_remove)] );

    After making that change all the problems were fixed!
