The free version is basically useless

  • The free version is basically a demo, you can’t really do anything with it.
    For example, if you want to connect your existing forms to a CRM, you must pay $99 to upgrade to pro, even though the plugin description listed Contact Form 7 as being supported in the free version. NOT true.

    Nope, checked again, you still need to pay to upgrade to connect Contact Form 7. If it is doable in the free version. Please link a tutorial or help page showing how to do it.
