    on the front page, it will not switch back to Danish after choosing English.

    on all the other pages it works fine.

    I have cleared all cache. that does not work either

    It could be a conflict with your actual theme or other plugins.
    The first recommended step, in this case, is the conflict test:
    ??*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Twenty theme. Please also disable all add-ons. If this fixes the problem, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.
