Out of the blue the first few galleries I created are gone, on the page is displayed “The gallery was not found!” where the gallery should be. In Foogalleries itself, the first few galleries I created are missing.

I have 15 total galleries. I have read that there are unlimited, has that changed and now when I create a new gallery, the oldest one drops off of the list?

I am using SiteOrigin page builder with FooGallery widget. In the widget it acts like I have not selected a gallery.

The galleries in question consisted of three photos each.

    hi @jjanthony

There is no limit to the number of galleries you can create.

The message is shown when there is no longer a gallery saved in the database.
If you look at the page source, what gallery ID is being used? And if you look at your gallery listing page in the admin, can you find a gallery with that same ID?

Sorry, the gallery ID was not showing when in the widget, and I have already altered the page and replaced with the generic gallery – as the page owner was upset. Also those galleries are missing from the listing in the FooGallery page, the first galleries I made, and trash was empty. Really bummed because this is a great plug in. But thanks for your reply.

OK I went to the edit history and found it.
    I am guessing it’s this:
    <div id="panel-844-0-0-6"
And here is the full for that widget area:
    </div></div></div><div id="panel-844-0-0-5" class="so-panel widget widget_foogallery_widget foogallery_widget" data-index="5" data-style="{&quot;background_image_attachment&quot;:false,&quot;background_display&quot;:&quot;tile&quot;}" >[siteorigin_widget class="FooGallery_Widget"]<input type="hidden" value="{&quot;instance&quot;:{&quot;title&quot;:&quot;Lodging Photos&quot;,&quot;foogallery_id&quot;:&quot;1064&quot;,&quot;so_sidebar_emulator_id&quot;:&quot;foogallery_widget-198610005&quot;,&quot;option_name&quot;:&quot;widget_foogallery_widget&quot;},&quot;args&quot;:{&quot;before_widget&quot;:&quot;<div id=\&quot;panel-844-0-0-5\&quot; class=\&quot;so-panel widget widget_foogallery_widget foogallery_widget\&quot; data-index=\&quot;5\&quot; data-style=\&quot;{&quot;background_image_attachment&quot;:false,&quot;background_display&quot;:&quot;tile&quot;}\&quot; >&quot;,&quot;after_widget&quot;:&quot;<\/div>&quot;,&quot;before_title&quot;:&quot;<h3 class=\&quot;widget-title\&quot;>&quot;,&quot;after_title&quot;:&quot;<\/h3>&quot;,&quot;widget_id&quot;:&quot;widget-0-0-5&quot;}}" />[/siteorigin_widget]</div><div id="panel-844-0-0-6" class="so-panel widget widget_sow-editor" data-index="6" data-style="{&quot;background_image_attachment&quot;:false,&quot;background_display&quot;:&quot;tile&quot;}" ><div class="so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base">

The earliest gallery I have now is id=”942″

    Hi @jjanthony

I am not sure how the siteorigin widget is working, as we did not develop it, but looking at that output, it does not seem to have a reference to the gallery ID anywhere, and that is what you need to output your FooGallery.

Is there a way to include a shortcode directly in site origin? If so, please can you try to embed the FooGallery shortcode which includes the gallery ID. It will look something like this:

    [foogallery id="2761"]

Yes I have created a few new galleries and just shortcode them into the editor that way I can have something to try and identify them in the off chance that that will help. But my problem is that the missing galleries were created within foogallery and are no longer there, and there was nothing in the trash. So even with utilizing a shortcode, if the galleries are disappearing from foogallery admin, then it really does not help me. I am totally open to the possibility that something is wrong on my end but I really don’t see how, if I had accidentally deleted the galleries for example, they would have been in the trash. But there was no trash. Thank you again for your response, it’s really a beautiful plugin, I just have to figure this out if I’m going to keep using it.

I am not sure why they stopped showing after time, or why they have disappeared from the admin, because FooGallery does NOT delete old galleries, and it also does NOT limit the number of galleries.

This is the first time I have heard of galleries getting deleted automatically, and if it is happening, then it is not FooGallery code, but something else in your setup.

The galleries are stored as custom post types in the post tables, so something else could be at play here, but it is impossible to know what.

The only code that deletes galleries is the code which runs for a full uninstall, which has to be run manually from the settings page and does not run when upgrading or during deactivation.

OK I will continue to use it and see what happens. It’s the best one I’ve found by far and I really don’t want to have to give it up. Thank you again for your replies.
