The Ghost of Flowplayer, and other Video embed issues 3.6

  • Was really happy to see the expanded video capabilities in the 3.6 ..

    I deleted my Flowplayer plug-in, and reset the two posts I had containing videos to the new format. The videos play just fine .. however there is still a ‘flowplayer’ watermark that shows on the videos before playing and when expanding to fullscreen.

    So .. um .. what’s up with that? And how do I get rid of it?

    Also, I’m having issues with custom setting the width and height. The width seems to take, but the height doesn’t.

    Also also .. how does one set a splash image (can’t find the video options page here).

    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    The splash image would be to set a poster. [video src=foo.mp4 poster=foo.jpg] and so on.

    The flowplayer watermark… Are you sure it’s not in the video itself? Or that the flowplayer is actually removed from your theme (if it was in it).

    What shortcode are you putting in for width/height?

    Okay .. here’s the weird thing. I can use the auto-embed thing and the video works .. i.e., just use the url to the video in the post.

    But I can’t use the [video ....] code .. I get the flowplayer box .. and a “can’t find video” error .. so I guess that means there are snippets of flow player that are not in the plug-ins folder … (visually verified logging into the server that the plug-in was removed) .. so I guess the big question is .. where the heck should I look?

    Nevermind .. found it .. seems the theme I’m using has flowplayer api buried deep in its ‘js’ folder. Guess I’ll have to play with that for a bit .. sorry for the hassle .. nothing to see here … move along …

    Whew ?? We had some problems with media so I was paying attention to this one!

    What theme is this? If it’s one of the ones from www.ads-software.com/themes, we need to pass the news on. As is, I’m going to note that flowplayer MAY have issues.

    From the Themify collection .. it’s good stuff overall. I’ve already posted on their forum to see if there is an override.

    Found a way to override it, but all I get is a url link (possibility noted in the codex) .. these would be videos from my own Media Library. Is there something I missed here?

    it’s hard to say unless you can verify this happening on a different theme. I THINK it’s just the theme clashing with 3.6 :/
