The issue/ignored counter doesn't reset after reinstalling plugin

    Hello!

    I noticed the issue/ignored count doesn’t reset when I deactivate/delete the WordPress Retina 2x plugin. I also notice my Pro key is still entered. I remember reading that this plugin doesn’t use the database, so how are these counts kept track of? I don’t see anything in the PHP error logs either.

    Since I don’t have many media files, I deleted them all after I uninstalled the plugin. With my media library empty, I installed/activated the plugin again. It still shows the issue and ignored count at 37 and 1, respectively. I add my media files again and, since there’s 2 issues in the new media files, the issue count increases from 37 to 39. I repeated this process one more time to see if that’s the pattern, and indeed the issue count increased to 41.

    Yes, the count information are actually kept in the DB… but as WordPress transients. They are basically temporary values. Of course, I do this for performance reason.

    Depending on what you do, for example deleting the images AFTER you uninstalled the plugin, the plugin can’t do anything to those transients. The only way is to click on the “Refresh” button in the Retina dashboard. Did you try?

    I should maybe delete those transients on uninstall, the problem is that it might be delete them also on plugin update. And since I know they will go away naturally, I didn’t want to force it. Tricky ??

    *facepalm* I must be burnt out today because I didn’t even notice that Refresh button. Welp, I’ll just go ahead and give that a click then… Thanks, hehe ??
