The keyboard shortcuts are back – Too many steps to access options
-
The latest WordPress updates removed keyboard shortcuts in the Gutenberg editor, which were really useful to save time.
For example, the keyboard shortcuts to change the heading: “Alt + Shift + 1,2, 3, ..” no longer work. This means that you have to do UP TO 4 CLICS to change a paragraph to an H3, when before you could do it with the keyboard shortcut “Alt + Shift + 3”.
The other drawback is that WordPress updates, far from improving, have made certain things take longer to do.
For example, before when you wanted to insert an image, you just had to type “/image” and hit Enter (because it was the first option that came up). Now I have to navigate to the “Image” location (because it doesn’t appear first despite typing “Image”). But that is not all. Then I have to click on “Choose Image” and then on “Media Library”. Those are too many steps to insert a simple image.

I hope you can improve the editor so that accessing the functions is as easy and above all fast as possible.
I also hope keyboard shortcuts will return as they are sorely needed to save time.
PS: Sorry if my English is not very good, I am using a translator.
