    Hello!

I have just updated from version 1.3.4.9 to 1.5.0, and found a bug that was duplicating the last image of a list of “rel”. Let me try to explain better…

I have four images, all with the same “rel”. Once the popup shows, if I use the arrows to navigate through the images, the last image in the list will act as if it were duplicated, as if I had five images and the last one was there twice…

This problem was clearly not there before updating to version 1.5.0, so I decided to go back to the version where it did work, but the problem still persists… So I have no clue what is going on…

    Please help me!

  • Hi soret, can you share a URL of a live example of this issue?

    Sure thing!

Please keep in mind that the web is not yet finished, and that it is not yet published, so the URL will be temporary and the design may not look very cool.

Since it is in a temporary URL, I wanted to avoid linking to it too much so that search engines won’t find 404 once it is published, but what the heck, it’s easier to show this way!

    Here it is!

    Thank you so much!

Hi soret, could you try two things:

    1. use rel=”gallery1″ (or anyhting else without a number at the start) instead of rel=”1″

    2. if that does not change anything, could you remove all rel attributes and enable the Auto-gallery option (set it to All Images) on the Settgins > Media admin page under FancyBox > Images.

please let me know how either or both turn out.

    Hi again, RavanH!

I did as you told me and renamed the rel=”1″ to something else, and that actually did the trick. However, I now have the problem of changing it on every single post and page. Since the web is not yet published, it is not very difficult, and I may manage to have it done in half an hour, or something. But imagine I had months, maybe years of posts that suddenly needed to change just that little attribute. Isn’t there any other way to come around this problem?

I did try auto-gallery in the begginning, but that was because I didn’t know about the other option which, I think, is a great feature. As you can see in this other example, that actually came very in handy. If there were a way to switch auto-gallery on or off on independent posts, it would be even better, but since I figured that wasn’t possible, I just did a quick rel=”1″ on the posts that didn’t need multiple galleries.

Anyway, as you can see on the previous example, the rel has been changed and it doesn’t have that problem anymore. However, I won’t do any changes just yet, in case that you find a quick solution to it. Please do!

And thank you so much for your time. I will really really appreciate it!

Hi soret, are you saying the issue was not occurring with the previous version 1.3.4.9 while using numbers as rel attributes?

    (@soret)

Affirmative. At least at some point before that, I’m sure it did not happen. However, I went back to 1.3.4.9 and the problem is still there. Perhaps a problem with the jquery library?

Hmmm, it might indeed be related to the jQuery version… In any case it is not advised to start any attribute value with a digit. ID’s composed or starting with digits are usually causing issues too.

Understood. I guess I’ll just have to go page by page, post by post changing it. I surely won’t be making that mistake again! Thank you so much for your time!
