    Hello,

I just noticed that when I use the “more tag” separation, the {login_url} tag doesn’t work anymore.

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, have you read the following documentation?

    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/creating-teaser-content-membership-site/

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

Yes of course, that’s why I would like to use the “more” tag to create teasing content, but unfortunately, the {login_url} shortcode is not working anymore. I mean that the sentence that invites user to register is not linkable, whereas withtout the more tag, it’s working fine and the sentence links to the register page via the {login_url} shortcode.

Where is that login URL shortcode coming from?

    Kind regards.

Hi, can you check to make sure the following option?Yes, Protect this content?is enabled for the more tag protection to work. Don’t enable a membership level because if you do then the teaser feature will not work and your whole content will be protected instead.

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

Yes, I have enabled the option (see screenshot).

And just check the most recent article of my blog here: as you can see, the sentence “Vous devez être membre pour voir ce contenu.” (which means “you have to be member to see this content) is not clickable, so the logged out user cannot click on it to register or log in. But when I do not use the [more] tag, all the article is not showing and the sentence that invites user to log in or register is clickable (see screenshot here).

Hi, did you also enable the protection option “Do you want to protect this content?” in the post or page in question? This is located towards the end of the post or page in the backend. If you have, please carry out the following troubleshooting steps. Report back with any findings.

Yes, of course, otherwise the article would have been visible for logged out users, and it’s not the case now. Everything is well parameted, the only problem is that the link is not clickable if I protect an article and add the “more” tag, event if I customize the “Restricted More Tag” message via the “Simple WP Membership Custom Message addon”.

Hi, I just completed a test in my dev site and it works for me. Please see the following steps I took to get it to work in my dev site.

1- Enable the protection option?“Do you want to protect this content?”?in the post but did not enabled a membership level.

2- I made sure the following feature Enable More Tag Protection was active in General Settings tab.

3- I customized the message in the following field Restricted More Tag (Not Logged-in) in the Custom Message addon. I also used the following dynamic merge tag {login_url}.

4- I went to a different browser to view the post in question and the custom message was displayed with the login link working.

I can confirm that this feature works for me. Did you carry out a plugin/theme conflict test that I mentioned above?

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

I have exactly followed the process. I also disabled all my extensions except Simple Membership Plugin and Custom messages addon, and it doesn’t work too. The message that invites user to login still not customized. Do you wany me to send you my credentials to see by yourself?

Hi, did you test a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Two?

Do you wany me to send you my credentials to see by yourself?

That is not allowed here in WordPress.

    Kind regards.

Yes same problem with Twenty Twenty-Two theme.

I am marking this topic as solved because I was not using the good value field. We have to fill out the “Restricted More Tag (Not Logged-in)” and not “Restricted More Tag” to make it work.

    Thanks a lot!
