• The code I have in Code Embed is running, but I can no longer access settings. When I select Settings -> Code Embed, it returns:

    Code Embed Options
The link you followed has expired.

This used to work fine, and all other plugins work fine.

I’m using Code Embed 2.3.4; PHP 7.2.34, with a memory limit 768M. WP 5.5.3. I don’t see any errors in the PHP log when attempting to run this (or any other errors on this day).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    That’s very odd.

I can’t recreate this and haven’t had any other reports of this occurring.

When it did it start doing this? Had you just installed the plugin for the first time? Had any added/updated any other plugins?

I’ve had code embed for at least 2 years with about 10 scripts. Strangely the scripts are all working fine – I just can’t view or edit them anymore. I do have a fair number of plugins, I disabled the cache, but no help. I haven’t gone into code embed in 4-5 months, although I have done the updates as they appeared. I did switch from WP 4.9 to 5.5 a month ago and dropped in a new theme with Elementor.

If I uninstall Code Embed and reinstall, will my scripts remain?

If all else fails, while it’s a hassle, I can go into the tables and edit the scripts that way (yes, a horrible way to do it, but better than starting over). A quick look at the posts and postsmeta didn’t show up the scripts. Is there a different table they are stored in?

I’d like to think we can find a solution.

However, we may need to go through 5 minutes of pain.

I suspect another plugin is the cause. Could you trying deactivating (not uninstalling!) all other plugins and see if the Code Embed settings screen works again? If so, try activating a few at a time to narrow down the one that’s the cause.

With that information, I can look to make changes to this plugin to prevent a clash.
