The loopback request to your site took too long to complete

    Hello Tobias,

    As of Wp 4.9.1 I am unable to edit php files with Wp editor. I ran the Health Check plugin and it came back with this msg:
    Loopback request: The loopback request to your site took too long to complete, this may prevent WP_Cron from working, along with theme and plugin editors.

    When I deactivate the Tablepress plugin the (error) msg disappears and I am able to edit .php files with the Wp editor.

    Could you please check if it is really your plugin? If you need any additional information, please let me know!

    Apache 2.4.29
    Php 7.0.27

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    Unfortunately, I have no idea what could be causing this message, but I doubt that it’s TablePress. It’s probably just coincidence that everything works again after deactivating TablePress.

    To find out more, I recommend to turn on WP_DEBUG in your site’s wp-config.php file. This could show you more error information.

    Hi,

    what does “unable to edit” mean here? Do you get error messages? Or timeouts? If so, the enabled WP_DEBUG constant can help debugging this.
    If you can edit it functions.php via your dashboard, I can only suggest to do it via FTP.
