the mail() function has been disabled.

hello everyone,
I’ve just installed a VPS LAMP and a wordpress, everything looks okay, besides that wordpress is unable to send email to reinitialize or confirm an account, showing this message:
“The email could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.”Do you have any idea? I plan to have two different wordpress on it.

a friend told me to use mailgun > https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/mailgun/
And yes I have to. it’s a VPS, not a host.
