In the breadcrumbs of posts, the menu type is shown instead of the category, despite the fact that the category is selected in the Yoast settings.

    Hello Triptikon,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your breadcrumbs. I could replicate the issue but it is unrelated to the Yoast SEO plugin.

The breadcrumbs are generated by the pencil framework plugin. You can confirm by deactivating the Yoast SEO temporarily to see if the issue persists or not.

@maybellyne You are wrong. Because it is Yoast breadcrumbs that are used in the site settings. Such an option exists there an it is switched on

    Hi,

Have you added the code needed in order to implement the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs?

If not, please do add the code, and then check if the Yoast SEO breadcrumb output is then working as expected (and showing the category pages in the breadcrumb path).

@mikes41720 Why code? The site uses breadcrumbs from Yoast. This option is enabled. For example, here is another site with the same theme and the same settings, but for some reason everything works as it should in this regard: [ redundant link removed ]

    Hi,

In order to implement the breadcrumbs, it isn’t enough to just enable the feature. You’ll either have to also add shortcode, the breadcrumb block, or if you want to implement it site-wide, you’ll have to edit your theme and insert the code.

You can learn more about it here – https://yoast.com/help/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs/#implement

@mikes41720 …I’m doing it again: Yoast’s breadcrumbs are ENABLED, understand?? But there is a bug in its work, which I ask for help to fix!

    Hi,

Can you confirm that aside from enabling the Yoast SEO breadcrumb feature, you’ve also implemented the code or have used the shortcode or block for this page (https://ikstv.info/speczialisty-xiaomi-sotvorili-nedorogoj-televizor-s-ekranom-v-58-dyujmov/)

We’re viewing the page source and it mentions ‘penci breadcrumbs’ as the breadcrumbs being used.

@mikes41720 I didn’t implement any extra code on these sites, just enabled the option to use Yoast breadcrumbs instead of the default ones. But in the case of one site, everything works as it should, and with another, a link to the menu is displayed in breadcrumbs

    Hi,

Each site is different and it would depend on the theme as well. We’re saying that you’d need to implement the code in order to use the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs, apart from just enabling the feature. Another option is to use the breadcrumb shortcode or breadcrumb block to use it for a specific post or page.

Please try to implement the code mentioned in this article and see if you can generate the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs and the desired pathways for your breadcrumbs.

@mikes41720 as per your advice, i tried pasting this code in the header and functions files, but it didn’t solve the problem

    Hey @triptikon,

    Thank you for your reply.

If the code is not working either then something must be off with your theme or plugin. We recommend further investigating this with your site/theme developer, as this customization is beyond what we can help with.
