  • i have already put < ! – – More – – > (w/o all the spaces) but it doesnt seem to cut my post. im using WP 1.2 why is that? could somebody help me asap? thanks

    got it.. it should be < ! – – more – – > and not < ! – – More – – >
    thanks guys!

is it possible to close the ‘more’ tag and have text shown after?? (do you know what i mean??)
so when you first view the post, you see text both before and after the “more” tag.

Nope don’t think so. My question would be why? Perhaps we can come up with something else.

Something like the Hide or Cut Post Text plugin? Where text between <!–cut–> and <!–/cut–> aren’t shown on the non-permalink pages (i.e. all pages except for the post’s single page), and you get a link like the “(more..)” link instead of the cut text?

How do I get the more-link to look like this?
    < p class=”morelink” >Read this post< /p >
Haven’t found anywhere to add a class attribute to the surronding p-tag.

    I meant:

    <p class="morelink">Read this post

okay, THIS is what I meant:
    < p class=”morelink” >< a href=”https://…”>Read this post< /a > < / p >
    (without the spaces)

By the way, in the current version it’s in wp-includes/template-functions-post.php not wp-includes/template-functions.php.
