    Hello Everyone,

I am a developer but have never done anything with PHP/Wordpress. I chose WordPress to build a site for a side-business unrelated to software because of its blogging functionality. I wanted to focus on the business aspects rather than spend the time writing the code. I have looked through the forums, and still just have a basic question.

I never downloaded anything locally, and simply used the Twenty Twenty-Two theme straight through the admin on the hosting site. I did, however, add some additional css through the appropriate section in the editor and updated some of the templates in the editor as well. I have been reading about child themes and trying to understand if a theme update could break my site. As I said, I did not touch anything in the filesystem, and only used the WordPress Admin to make changes based on the tutorials.

Do I need a child theme and if so, is there one already available to avoid errors?

Thanks so much for your help in advance.
