It appears the the image map is not there. This is your page:

    <p align="center"><img src="https://usislands.org/directory/usmap.gif" alt="" usemap="#usmap" border="0" /></p>
    <map name="usmap"> </map>

What happens if you install the classic editor plugin and restore the revision of the page prior to the one that broke it?

It’s funny that I’m seeing the Map Image when I look at the page.

When I look at the HTML all of the:

    <area shape=”poly” alt=”ALABAMA” coords=”504,376,499,291,540,290,555,357,517,365,523,376,510,377″ href=”https://usislands.org/alabama/&#8221; title=”Alabama”>

are missing for each state. The editor stripped them out.

Can I rebuild them? Yes. But, it will be a PITA.

That’s why I suggested restoring an earlier revision of the post — before you edited it with the block editor — and AFTER you install “classic editor”.

Tell me how to do it with the new editor and I might try that.

Luckily I had an old version of HTML version of this page with all the ‘<area shape=”poly”’ code in it. But, I had to change all the links addresses.

The editor shouldn’t have stripped the ‘<area shape=”poly”’ code. This is what happens when you try to reinvent the wheel and come up with a triangle.

I finally found it. It sure isn’t very intuitive.

Yup. Switch to the “classic editor”.

Thanks. I like the “classic editor” so much better than the new one.

Do I need to worry about Gutenberg? Should I also install either the “Classic Editor Addon” or the “Disable Gutenberg Block Editor”?

OK, i appear to have the same or similar problem. i was attempting to edit my page this morning and next thing in knew all content on the page was deleted and published. i never saved or published the page. how do i get it back? i have installed the classic editor.

Hey, found how to restore my page.

Please pass along my dislike of this editor. I poked around the new editor add-on and apparently my version of WP is not compatible with it. BUT, forcing the editor on a WP that is not compatible is not nice.

You may want to start a new Topic. That way one of the Volunteers will see it as a new problem.

10-4, yet i still feel better
