The new Hueman needs beta testers

    Hi !

    The new version of Hueman is ready for beta tests.

    This updated version is compliant with the latest WordPress theme repository requirements, in particular the fact that all theme options must now be set from the WordPress customizer.
    Moving the options to the customizer has been a challenging development work, especially for the dynamic settings like sidebars and social settings. I hope it will result in a user friendly interface, in line with the initial creator and designer ( @alxmedia ) philosophy!
    You can apply for the beta tests on this page and submit your results here. You’ll receive the download link of the new version and some instructions for the tests.

    You don’t need to be a developer or a WordPress guru to test the beta version, any contribution will be welcomed and useful !

  • I’ve added Schema on my child theme (single.php and other pages) on previous version of Hueman, checked with Google Structured Data Testing Tool. I downloaded v.3.0.3 today and I will test it on next days, I will add Schema and I will try to report my diff.

    – There is a possibility to see on second sidebar the posts of the second page?

    – My (test) WP update page says there is a new version 3.0.6. From this point forward could I update with this method?

    I think I’ll wait for the Hueman addons plugin and… the dust to settle ?? I hope there aren’t many big kinks surfacing, so I’ll check in on the weekend and update my sites then. Great job, @nikeo!

    Wow 3.0.8 already? Where can we find a changelog?

    This is the current changelog. It’s been merged with the other 3* version for simplicity reasons.

    = 3.0.8 April 13th 2016 =
    * Moved options from the previous admin option ( Appearance > Theme Options ) to the customizer panel. Users settings from a previous version are being preserved an re-used in the customizer.
    * New settings organization. In the customizer, the settings have been reorganized in 5 panels : Global settings, Header, Content, Footer, Dynamic Sidebars and Widgets.
    * Added a new way to create dynamic content with widgets for a given context (home, page, archive …) and in a specific location of the page ( right sidebar, footer left, …)
    * Added backward compatibility for the renamed functions used in the templates, like alx_social_links() now is hu_social_links()
    * Fixed backward compatibility issue with already declared old functions in child theme
    * Added back the featured-category option
    * Fixed undefined function ot_register_meta_box()

    Note : The changelog is always available in Appearance > About Hueman or in the readme.txt file

    the first release of the Addons plugin is scheduled today on github and in the coming days on wp.org
