• Hi,?
my blog has been running for two or three years now but suddenly I cannot even open up the login page or get to the admin. The site is still active but I cannot get any access to it from a login. All I’m getting is a blank page with the url below. I know this has been posted on here many time but I have tried so many things and still can’t find a fix.

?I have tried disabling plugins and themes but this didn’t work. I have tried many of the fixes listed on the help forum such as editing config, login, index but still nothing.
This is the url I am getting: “https:// (mywebsite).com/wordpress/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fdv-eye.com%2Fwordpress%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1”

    Alternative Link to login: https://www.dv-eye.com/wp-login.php

Other times when I have edited php in file manager I get a (none) text.
It seems to be redirecting but I cannot figure out what to do. I have also tried optimizing my data base and checking my urls but still no fix.

Can someone please point me in the right direction or some kind of fix?? This has been going on for some time now and I really do not want to lose all the work I have. I was thinking of trying a backup restore but have no idea of how to do that.

    Any help much appreciated.
    Julian

A blank page means PHP itself is crashing, so you have to find out what’s causing it to crash first.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi James
so I deactivated all the plugins and themes. I can now access my admin dashboard. Thanks a lot for the advice.

The Admin dashboard does not seem to be connected as WordPress News is not loading also when I click on themes or plugins both pages are just blank white.

My main site has the same problems as my admin dashboard.
My secondary site seems to be fine and I can access everything.

So the next step is reactivating plugins and themes to see which of them are causing problems. Would it be easier to delete and reinstall the plugins and themes I need?

    Thanks for your help

Both methods will accomplish the same results, either deleting them or deactivating them, so just do whichever you’re most comfortable with. ??

    Hi,

I ended up backing up all my work and deleting because I just could not fix the problem. So I now have a clean install and guess what the same problems persist?
I have no idea whats going on but I am still getting blank pages when I go to plugins or themes. Plus the WordPress News is still not loading which makes me thing that it isn’t connecting to the host.

    Any advice?

    Much appreciated & thanks

Ok, a blank screen means PHP is crashing, and there should be a more detailed error in your server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the blank screen again (by visiting plugins and themes), note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.
