I was asked to create a new site for an organization.
The old site used giveWP to collect donations.

By creating the new one (in a subfolder and a new db, so as not to compromise the site currently in production), I am trying to set up giveWP for the same purpose. I tryed replicating the same settings but, when I try the form, I always receive the following message:

The following error occurred while submitting the form:
    The operation was aborted
    .

Then it happens a redirection to a blank page with a single message: Forbidden.

What is causing this issue and how can I fix this it?

Thanks in advance for any kind help.

    Hi, @lorenzocp,

Glad you reached out! Happy to help with this one.

We’ve investigated it, and we found that you’ve uncovered an edge-case issue with our GiveWP plguin. What is happening is that installations on subfolders are not working. It needs to be on a subdomain OR on the main domain, but not subfolders.

I’ve escalated this to our development team so they can work on a fix. You can follow up on the progress of the fix here: https://feedback.givewp.com/bug-reports/p/vfb-forms-generate-invalid-form-id-error.

We are actively tracking user issues to make sure our dev team is aware of them and can get them fixed. You can use the link to check in for updates or to provide additional details of your own.

Give the post above a look, and let me know if you would like me to add any additional details. I want to ensure your need is as accurately reflected as possible, and I’m happy to include an internal note to our teams with any specific information you would like them to have.

While we work on a fix, feel free to message us if you have further questions or require any additional assistance!

If possible, you can try moving the site in a subdomain installation or the root directory. If that’s not possible, you can use an option-based form instead as a workaround.

    Thank you for using GiveWP!

    Have a great day!
