• Hi,

Can someone please help me with this,

I just tried to load my site and I couldn’t do it.

    It said:
    – The page resulted in too many redirects
    – clearing your cookies for this site or allowing 3rd party cookies may fix the problem

    Please help!

    D

  • Can you login into your Admin area? If so, try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and deleting/renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

    Hi thank you for replying.

I can log in to the admin area yes. What are permalinks though? I dont think I have set any up..

And what is htaccess file? where can I find that?

Sorry, but I am a complete beginner when it comes to these things.

See Settings/Permalinks. Ensure that you select default settings and then select Save Changes

    Hi everyone,

    I have the same problem

I have just updated from WP 3.05 to 3.1
I am using the WPML multilingual CMS plugin version 2.04
I am using the following custom structure: “/%category%/%postname%/”

    And voila:
    https://www.annit.is/ymislegt/

I tried looking for .htaccess (using filezilla) but it looks as if there is none.

If I change permalink settings to default I get 404 Not Found
The requested URL /ymislegt was not found on this server.

If I change it to numeric I see the website but it’s showing a theme-specific 404 instead of the entries expected. I can look for a post and find it but the default category view is not showing anything

I would appreciate any feedback on this
Do I need WPML 2.1.2 (commercial version)?
Do I have to change my permalinks?
If I have to change my .htaccess, where is it located?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Best,
    Ragnar
