The plugin always tell to optimize

please post your version of mysql and php. Try it out also with phpMyAdmin, it WP-Optimize cant optimize, phpmyAdmin will not be able to optimize too.

It may happen if one of your tables are corrupted. Also it may happen if you are running on windows server.

It also happens when transient options are created automatically by some plugins and even by WordPress itself.

Im on Linux, Litespeed web server, PHP 5.2.17, MySQL 5.5.34

i tried with PHPMyAdmin and this is the result:

for all tables it says: “note Table does not support optimize, doing recreate +…”

i Googled and came to https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/optimize-table.html
especially the paragraph referred to “For InnoDB tables, OPTIMIZE TABLE is mapped to ALTER TABLE…”

In PHPMyAdmin i checked and the type of WP Tables are InnoDB.

I have other WordPress db istances that are type MyISAM and if i run the optimize sql query it works fine.

So this is the “problem” and maybe why WP-OPTIMIZE doesn’t affect.

How i can do? Should i contact the web hosting or there is another SQL query i can run to optimize?

yeah innodb table types wont work.

I don’t have the solution for the moment.

basically wpO uses the same thing as phpMyadmin.

@james-roberts , not yet. The alter table statement does not work always with innoDB tables.. not sure exactly why is that. So no solution for now.

after some Google searches i found that the optimization of Innodb tables is not a primary need, here is a clear discussion about

Thanks @simbian . I have seen that.. My point is .. it does work/does not work – randomly. So that is the reason I don’t want to do it for inndoDB.
