    Hello,

First, thanks for your work, your plugin is great!

I have installed the “WP Security Audit Log” plugin since a few weeks and recently i have installed UpDraftPlus in this website.

The audit log tell me the following message at each time UpDraftPlus run a backup :

“An unknown component deleted the following tables from the database: =.”

Have you an idea why UpDraftPlus delete a table of my database and if it is a problem?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

    Regars.

    Hi,

UD creates, and then deletes, its own temporary table during *restore* operations, as a test of the access to permission to create tables (which is necessary to do a successful restore). It does not delete any tables during backups.

The log message itself does not appear to make sense. “=” is not a valid name for a database table. You’ll want to talk to the plugin vendor to find out what the log message really means.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your quick reply!

    However it’s during the backup.

Here is the log lines :

    • 16-11-2017 12:29 PM An unknown component deleted the following tables from the database: =.
    • 16-11-2017 8:29 AM An unknown component deleted the following tables from the database: =.
    • 16-11-2017 4:29 AM An unknown component deleted the following tables from the database: =.

And here the backup dates :

    • Nov 16, 2017 12:29
    • Nov 16, 2017 8:29
    • Nov 16, 2017 4:29

    The hours correspond perfectly.

For the database name i think the plugin don’t get the table name before the deletion but it’s an other problem.

    Hi,

The best thing to do would be to ask the other plugin why the table name is not shown. If it can’t name the table, it’s likely that it’s also in error in saying that any table has been deleted (as I say, there is no such code in UD). Talking to them will help to confirm that.

You can also use any suitable tool (e.g. WP-Optimize) to compare your list of tables before and after a backup, to confirm that they are the same.
