I added the plugin, but when I try to activate it, I get this error:
The plugin does not have a valid header.

So, I currently can’t use the plugin which is required for the Zap I’m trying to use.

  • I had this problem, as well, and reported it via the requested support link. Here was the thread.

I tried installing the required WordPress Zapier plugin and got the following error:

The plugin does not have a valid header.

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/zapier/ Version 1.0.2.

I also received this error: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress.

So I couldn’t even get started.

We’re at current WordPress version 5.6.

    Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out! Happy to help.

This actually seems to be a WordPress issue that isn’t specific to Zapier. Here’s an old thread from a few years ago on WordPress’s support site where someone reported the same thing for Etsy.

Based on the forum discussions, this error can happen when you try to activate the plugin from the same screen you install it from. Instead, I’d suggest navigating to the plugins page and clicking ‘Activate’ from there. Would you mind giving that a try and letting me know if you’re still having trouble?

As for the version number, the plugin supports v5.0 and higher. It may be that it hasn’t been tested with your specific variant, but I’m not sure that would actually block you from using it. My hunch would be that resolving the primary issue will get us up and running.

Thank you for your rapid response.

However, in the thread you referenced, the developer resolved the problem. WordPress had simply warned against an incorrect plugin, as they should do.

I would like to hear that Zapier is working to resolve the issue with the plugin rather than ask potential customers to work around it.

Thanks, Jay. That seems to have done the trick!

It does seem odd that this is the only plugin that I’m having an issue and that so many other people are reporting it here, but at least there’s a workaround for now.

does not work for me I still cannot use the plugin. I get this message even after I have activated the plugin??
