  • I’m having the same issue. Please help!

Same problem. I downloaded an older version about 3 weeks ago and it installed fine. This newer version that states it was updated a week ago has an issue. The product has worked well on several websites. This is the first time it has never installed properly. It appears to be in the wptouch install php file…but I cannot find the error in the header (there was one according to a debugger in line 70)

I think it can be solved quickly, but I don’t know enough about the code to figure it out.

I just discovered something based on another post.

Edit the install PHP file at the bottom of the plug in…

    Line 12…

I took out the ‘ on either side of WP Touch(right after Trademark:) in the PHP install file, saved the file, hit activate, and it installed..

It makes no sense to me, because that whole line is not to be read by the parser…but that did the trick.

Hi, I have the same issue as well and I tried the suggestion by hmichaelrich, but it still didn’t activate. I tried to install on a WP 3.9.2 site.

UPDATE: After the error, I went back to the list of installed plugins and noted that the plugin was of course deactivated. Out of curiosity, I tried re-activating the plugin and lo & behold, it activated with no error this time! The plugin seems to be functioning as expected now as far as I can tell.

    Thanks for the report.

It does seem to have been a very rare glitch when WordPress first loads the update’s init file. As Frank stated, heading to the Plugins page and re-activating WPtouch should work fine.

If the issue persists, please open a new topic, including details of your hosting environment to help with debugging.
