  • Same issue here. I’ve been getting CPU limited for the past 2 months. I had no idea what it was and have switched host 3 times to try and resolve the issue but to no avail.

I stumbled across this thread and have just realised that it must be the yoast plugin.

I can’t get rid of it as we need it but can’t really see a solution beyond buying a VPS with high CPU limits.

Has anyone found a way to resolve the issue besides finding a better host?

What did help a bit was disabling CRON. I still get limited but not as often.

    Thanks

I had been experiencing the same problem for the past year with hostagator before I finally quit using them. I was on the phone constantly with their support about this telling me to disable plugins and use w3 total cache which did not help either. they have a 25 process limit. I switched to using Arvixe and they have 500 process limit. I have been using wordpress by yoast without the same problem i had with hostgator, but you should still monitor your plugins. Install P3 Profiler plugin for wordpress to see which plugins use the most resources. Arvixe

Regardless of the host you are using, the question remains

Is WordPress SEO by Yoast too resource intensive? Has this been improved?

I ask as I am still deciding what SEO plugin to use and was leaning towards this one, but if the plugin uses up too many resources then that in my view is a major problem.

I have no excess cpu usage issues as I have my own VPS with plenty of available CPU etc, but that is not the point.

Solving this by moving host is not a solution. The solution has to be with the plugin using far less resources,

Can anyone or the developer give me some more detail on the CPU usage please.

    Cheers
