I am using this plugin a lot and never faced any problem. Just two problems that I’ve found.

    1. The plugin isn’t supporting to skip any folder that we don’t want to include in the backup. For example, if someone using Updraft, I can’t be able to skip the Updraft backups, and AIO WP Migration’s backup file is too much larger in size including those backups.

    2. When I clone/restore a site, the old data remains in the same directory. This is really annoying. If someone wants’s to restore the site back to the previous version using your plugin, the old data must be removed.
Also, if I clone the site and as your backup file needs AIO WP Migration plugin to restore the site, a site (WordPress) must be installed to clone the site. This is another reason that the old files must be removed.

Unlike the other plugins like Duplicator etc., they give the option to restore the site without any installation of WordPress so that we can remove the whole files once. But in the case of AIO, we have to remove the files from every folder manually after cloning the site.

Am I doing something wrong? Do you have any suggestion?

    About your questions
    1) It is not recommended to run more than one backup solution – I advise you to select one backup plugin and use it. The same rules applies for any plugin category – select the plugin that fits your needs the most but do not use two plugins that provide similar or same functionality on one site.
As for excluding folders – we have a couple of ideas how to do it but we still haven’t decided on a way to move forward with this. The plugin tries to guess best and excludes some of the well known backups and temporary files.

    2) The plugin used to first clean the website and then copy over the fresh content. Our users, however, wanted a different functionality – instead of cleaning the site first, they requested that we do not clean the existing site. Nowadays, we get requests like yours to clean the site before importing the data. We will probably move ahead with an option that will let you select the desired behavior at import time.

All of the WordPress hostings where we have tested the plugin have an easy way to install a new WordPress. We figured it is easier to automate a new WordPress install, install the plugin, and then import the data if clean install is what is required. If cleaning old files is what you are after, I recommend following this path.
