The plugin that shouldn’t be…

… but thank you for doing such a hard work to make it the best lifejacket in the midst of a rough tide.

One doesn’t have to be a Gutenberg critic to realize the importance of plugins like this. There’re thousands or millions of sites that can be harmed deeeply by the arrival of Gutenberg to WordPress core. Simply because they don’t need a new editor, let alone an editor that doesn’t meet expectations (almost 2/3 negative reviews so far).

It is paradoxical that, in creating a tool to “facilitate the entry of new users”, we alienate a significant part of those who already use WordPress for various uses other than a blog or news site (and, I guess, users with great responsibility in raising WordPress to +30% marketshare).

I’m not saying WordPress doesn’t need an improved editor, but I’m sure it doesn’t need one that’s developed and imposed like this one is, sold as the last coke in the desert.

It’s good to rely on this awesome community to get answers like Disable Gutenberg, because there’s a lot of people who don’t have the time, the money or the knowledge to adapt their fully working sites to an imposed caprice.

I want to thank you for sharing your work and for easing the “acquaintanceship” with Gutenberg. And I hope you can continue to improve it to give the users a chance to control their own sites.
