What is the purpose of the position field in WooComm Products table and how do I use it?

I have noticed that when I export the csv file from WooComm products, although the data is exported correctly, the order of the rows is somewhat scrambled and not quite the same as the input file. How can I prevent this?

  • Hi there @mjaitly123

The purpose of the Menu order?field, found under the Advanced tab, in the “Product data” section, showcased here, is for?custom ordering position for that item.

Feel free to find out more at the Filter or Sort Products section of the documentation, linked directly here.

Furthermore, the possibility of enabling further, custom, sorting is possible, as explained here.

Just to clarify, the ordering of the rows is not what is important, as long as the corresponding fields are mapped correctly when importing a .CSV file.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.
