    If you have the option selected to post URLs shortened by WordPress, you’ll always get the first option (?p=1234). If you select “no shortening”, you’ll get the URLs according to your permalink settings; but if you haven’t enabled pretty permalinks, that will still mean that you’ll get the parameter-based URL.
