The recommended way of of using YOAST as a photographer
-
Hello,
my wordpress page mainly provides images as content. On the one hand, I would like to manage those images with a gallery plugin, such as provided by NextGen, Envira or Web-Dorado. On the other hand, I would like to include those images into my XML sitemap, as suggested on the YOAST page[1].
However, I have noticed that YOAST fails to generate a proper XML sitemap for all these different gallery plugins. As far as I understood, it is not YOAST to be blamed[2], yet the result is unsatisfying (no images of the gallery plugin are included in the XML sitemap). A potential – yet cumbersome – solution is to neglect any of those gallery plugins and to include the images as media into the post or page.
So here is my question: What is the recommended way of using YOAST as a photographer? If you are a photographer with a proper solution, what do YOU use? Is it:
1) just ignore that images are not shown in the XML sitemap
2) use the plain wordpress functionality managing images
3) use an alternative plugin for images
4) use an alternative plugin for SEO
5) do something elseHereby I am completely open minded about any suggestion. However ideally I would like to use a gallery plugin that enables features like commenting, rating, a lightbox, a preview.
I do not stick to a certain plugin, however, I like YOAST, which is why I am asking this question in this forum.
I am grateful for any suggestion,
Richard[1]
